Snowy Valleys Council, in partnership with the Department of Planning and Environment – Crown Lands and Destination Riverina Murray, have been successful in obtaining funding through the Regional NSW - Business Case and Strategy Development Fund to produce a Strategic Plan for the Hume and Hovell Track.

Snowy Valleys Council have appointed SMA Tourism as our lead consultants and have completed a situation analysis for the Hume and Hovell Track Strategic Plan, this was followed by Round 1 Stakeholder engagement and in-person consultation sessions, which explored alternative options for the ongoing focus of the track and its supporting facilities. 

A comprehensive on-site audit was undertaken along most of the Hume & Hovell Track and a number of strategic opportunities were identified. Round 2 consultation was then undertaken where the 7 strategic directions were presented to stakeholders and feedback was collated to incorporate in the Strategic Plan.
