Ferndale Plantation Notifications

PF Olsen Australia have provided Hume & Hovell with notification of the following activities.

PF Olsen Australia will be conducting harvesting operations at the Ferndale Plantation from mid-July and will continue through to Summer 2022. Harvesting will occur through this period and will mean that log trucks will be hauling the timber along Tin Mines Fire Trail Road to Woomargama on a frequent basis.

Some disruptions may occur when the trees growing adjacent to the track are harvested which could mean occasional closures during this time. We will endeavor to pass on these notifications when received. If you have any concerns please contact PF Olsen.

Track Managers advise walkers to use caution when passing through this section. You must remain on the track and ensure you are prepared with sufficient supplies and water in the event that delays are experienced.

Please see the below map for the affected area.

PF Olsen Australia will also be conducting blasting operations on the 2nd August 2022 within the Ferndale Plantation

The site will be closed for the day to all persons beside operational staff, which incudes acess to the Hume and Hovell Track. Please avoid this area on the 2nd August 2022.

For further information or enquiries specific to this work please contact PF Olsen Australia on (02) 6947 6740 or Ray Krippner on 0448 476 208 or visit the website at https://au.pfolsen.com/

Please note: the Hume & Hovell Track passes through numerous land tenures which means access and management may be impacted by the governing body. This includes chemical usage, harvesting operations, road works and maintenance.
