Henry Angel Track section reopens

After severe flooding in the Tumbarumba area in November 2020 there was extensive damage to the boardwalk and bridge across Burra Creek in the Henry Angel Trackhead to Mannus Lake Campground section of the track, causing this to close to the public.

With this being placed as a high priority, after only 4 weeks the boardwalk and bridge infrastructure has been completely replaced and a major clean-up in the area was undertaken.

We can now share that the track from Henry Angel Trackhead through to Col Daniel Bridge is OPEN and accessible to visitors once again just in time for Christmas!

This is an excellent short walk for visitors, following Burra Creek which was an important alluvial gold and tin mining area over 100 years ago. The channel has been cut through the rock to assist the miners operations, using dynamite to create the the vertical rock walls.

At this stage you can only reach the Col Daniel bridge before having to turn around and return the way you have come, as further along the track remains closed from bushfire damage inflicted at the start of 2020.

More update on this section will be posted in future.
