2020 capital infrastructure upgrades: new stiles!

Despite the chaos inflicted on Track maintenance this year, a number of infrastructure upgrades have been undertaken as weather/Covid restrictions/time permits.

You will be excited to see the older style wooden post stiles are gradually being replaced by a more user friendly steel design, with steps and a double handrail for ease of use for those with backpacks.

These are currently being implemented through the sections of the track that were not fire damaged, but will eventually be fitted across the whole track as these areas are repaired.
Not only are these safer for hiker usage, they will withstand the elements and natures forces (fire, flood) with higher durability and require little ongoing attention. This ensures the longevity of the track for all users.

The stiles are also easily identifiable, which will assist our users to follow the course of the track with more ease. Let us know if you have used our new stiles yet!
