Tin Mines road reopens

This month the National Parks and Wildlife Service have reopened the Woomargama National Park and our Hume & Hovell Track Managers have inspected this section of the fire-affected track with great results. We can now announce that the Tin Mines Road - from Tin Mines Campground through to Jingellic Road at Lankeys Creek Campground has now re-opened for our Hume & Hovell Track walkers.

The road had originally been swept with dozers after the fire to gain access and undertake tree clearing work but the forest closure meant that walkers could not enter the area until it was deemed safe. This opening will remain subject to the status of NPWS forest management so please always check for updates..

This is the second section that has now opened since the bushfire of January 2020, with the walk from Henry Angel Campground to Col Daniel Bridge being re-instated in December 2020 and is being regularly enjoyed by visitors and campers.
