Buccleuch State Forest Harvesting Operations

Forestry Corporation of NSW has harvesting operations (thinning) planned in two pine plantation compartments alongside the Hume and Hovell Walking Track. The affected section of the track is from the intersection of the walking track and Argalong Road at the north end of the harvest area (-35.308268, 148.525839) to the intersection at the south end of the harvest area at Chinamans Creek Road (-35.319929, 148.520666).

The harvesting operations will be occurring in the dark grey area, as outlined on the map below (supplied by Forestry Corporation of NSW). Harvest operators will be maintaining a 50m buffer from the walking track and as such no closure to the track will be required.

These operations have now commenced and will last for several weeks depending on weather conditions.
Track Managers advise walkers to use caution when passing through this section. You must remain on the track and ensure you are prepared with sufficient supplies and water in the event that delays are experienced.

For further information or enquiries specific to this work please contact Harrison Dalton on 0437 295 934 or visit the Forestry Corporation website at www.forestrycorporation.com.au

Please note: the Hume & Hovell Track passes through numerous land tenures which means access and management may be impacted by the governing body. This includes chemical usage, harvesting operations, road works and maintenance.
